Movie Synopsys:

The Yugoslav National Liberaration Army’s Headquaters imposed its own conditions for the exchange of prisoners of war: for each German officer of petty officer, two, and for each private one member of partisan unit or a hostage from a prison or concertation camp.

The German Regional Command was obliged to accept this. Thus an exchange was arranged to take place on Maiden Bridge. At the command post, Marko, George, Kosmajac and Yelena are assinged the special mission of escorting the column of nine German soldiers with Major Kolbe and the wounded Sergeant – Major Hans, and of getting them alive, at all costs to the scene of the exchange.

The party is exposed to many temptations and on the march the inner drama of each member is gradually unfolded.
